The photo of the "Brussels Flower Carpet 2016", designed by Fujie Suzuki NOMURA Ltd., the first Japanese designer, has been adopted for an original frame stamp issued by Japan Post Co., Ltd. to commemorate Ibaraki Prefecture being a host town for the Kingdom of Belgium (on sale from December 1, 2020). The stamps consist of a total of 15 photos, including a night view of the Flower Carpet, and other stunning photographs of Ibaraki Prefecture and the Kingdom of Belgium.

The Brussels Flower Carpet is held every two years at the Grand Place in Brussels, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the 20th event was held in 2016, over four days from August 12th, 2016, with a Japan theme, as part of the celebrations of 150 years of friendship between Japan and Belgium. Based on the concept of "flowers, birds, wind and moon," Fujie Suzuki concept design the carpet to express the deep friendly bond between Japan and Belgium over the past 150 years, and her hope for a bright future, through the "beautiful nature" and "beautiful scenery" that are common to both countries.

Approximately 100,000 people visited the event over the four days, and it was highly praised as "a moving and inspirational piece that connects the history and feelings of both countries. A wonderful concept design will remain in the history of flower carpets." Going forward, NOMURA will continue to create new social value through space and deliver Delight and Passion to the world, as "Nomura, chosen by society."
