This project was planned in an area lined with restaurants on Shirokane Platinum Street. The intention was to create a building that, while new, has a presence and a pleasant feel as if it had been there for a long time, and that "evokes memories," on a 35m-wide site.
Our company assisted with schematic design and design supervision for this building, which aims to become a landmark of the city as a complex dining facility. The building was required to have a sense of openness, so we used cement broken stones to create a sense of openness and shielding, and created a texture that looks as if it has been eroded by wind and light. This also contributes to creating the atmosphere of "dry southern land," which is concept design keyword for the interior.
Based on a consistent concept, we assisted with everything from interiors concept design to the selection of plants and artwork to realize a unified interior that allows the sense of wind and light flowing in from the outside, as well as greenery and water. When viewed from the outside, interiors concept design that continues to the terrace, combined with the planting plan, becomes one of the elements that decorate the facade, and the architectural facade becomes a borrowed view from the interior space, creating this space by complementing the inside and outside.
The facility includes a dining area, a teppanyaki restaurant, two banquet halls, and a chapel, all of which are walk-in or open kitchens. The front room of the chapel and the bucket hall is separated by glass, and emphasis is placed on line of sight and continuity of space within the facility.
In addition to being open to the street, the appearance created by the materials, which appear to have aged over time, gives off an atmosphere as if it has been there for a long time, making it a distinctive landmark and helping to build an intimate relationship with the town.
