National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) Permanent displays: "Hello! Robot," "Nanairo Quest - A Story of the Future Living with Robots," "Nobel Q"

In November 2023, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) opened two new permanent displays themed around "robots": "Hello! Robot" and "Nanairo Quest - A Story of the Future Living with Robots." "Hello! Robot" is displays where visitors can imagine living with diverse robots in the future and discover new possibilities through interactions with robots and introductions to the latest robotics research. "Nanairo Quest" is an exhibition where visitors explore displays space using a dedicated tablet to solve problems that occur in "Nanairo City," a future city where humans and robots live together. Through conversations with residents and information about robots active in the city, visitors can learn about various displays in which humans and robots interact and gain new insights. Our company was in charge of schematic design, working drawings, and construction. We also handled the design and construction of "Nobel Q," which was renovated in September 2023.

・Towards realizing the Miraikan Vision 2030, "A platform for creating the 'future' together with you," we want to create displays everyone can enjoy from a diversity and inclusion perspective.
We want this to be a place where each individual can take the future vision and challenges brought about by cutting-edge science and technology as their own responsibility, and where they can enjoy thinking about the future through problem identification, idea exploration, and opinion sharing.

From the design stage, we conducted numerous verifications with visually impaired, hearing impaired, wheelchair users, children, and the elderly, and incorporated their feedback into the design. In addition to universal concept design compliance, we created an experiential application with three scenarios in three languages (English, Japanese, and Chinese), and by displaying audio and subtitles, we made displays accessible to a diverse range of visitors. concept design not only the space itself, but also the narrative, puzzles, interactive devices, robot sculptures, and displays effects, creating an immersive experience that allows visitors to connect with each other and share different values.
