National Okinawa Memorial Park Oceanic Culture Museum
This facility, which inherited the philosophy of the Okinawa International Ocean Expo held in 1975, has been reborn as a cultural facility that is responsible for international exchanges suitable for the century of the ocean.
In addition to the valuable materials from the 1970s, new cultural resources have been created, such as a Micronesian voyaging canoe (the Lien Polowat) and an Okinawan sabani, and displays have been completely revamped.
Under the theme of "Way finding traditional navigation," it conveys the history and culture of unknown voyagers who spread across the Pacific Ocean.
A total of 20 supervisors and experts were involved in concept design process to ensure comprehensive implementation.
