overview

This is a renovation of the Accident Information displays Room at the Seibu Training Center, which was established in 2009 for the purpose of safety education for Seibu Railway employees.
In addition to the existing "displays area," a new "learning area" has been set up, and it has been equipped as a "safety education room" with the aim of encouraging each employee to think and act independently and share awareness toward building safety, in order to learn from past accidents and prevent accidents from occurring again.
In the "displays Area," visitors can reaffirm Seibu Railway's "safety first" policy based on the accident information accumulated to date, and learn lessons from accidents.
The "learning area" focuses on human error and introduces the latest safety management concepts. Through hands-on displays and workshops, participants were encouraged to think for themselves about how to solve problems and discuss them in groups, with the aim of sharing safety awareness among employees.

Our company was responsible for planning and concept, design, layout, sign and graphic concept design, design supervision, environmental features, exhibit execution, interior execution, and building execution.

Issues/requests

1. Give safety training a flow (story).
2. Expand the area and enhance both accident learning and safety education.
3. Encourage employees to prioritize safety.
4. Replace information from panel displays with digital signage to increase the amount of information and make it easier to add information (scalability).

solution

1. We created an educational story to foster an awareness that safety is the top priority.
2. The roles and functions of displays area and learning area have been clarified.
In terms of educational content, we have added explanatory displays and safety learning elements that focus on why human error occurs.
3. We created a space where people could face the facts of the accident and ensure that the accident would not be forgotten.
4. We carefully considered existing displays to create displays method that allows visitors to experience and feel the exhibit, resulting in a lively and flowing displays.
We have introduced touch panel digital signage to enable "proactive learning" and provide an experiential space where employees can share their awareness.
