PARA HEROes Exhibition
The "PARA HEROes" exhibition was planned to spread the word about diversity and inclusion to Japan and the world by showcasing the appeal of the sport and its athletes through the work of four young artists and creators using "para table tennis."
As part of NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's support activities to promote sports, and as a part of the "COLORS: One Year to Go Event to Commemorate the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Thanks to our connection with ", we were able to sponsor the project by providing planning and concept design.
What did the artists feel when they encountered "Para Table Tennis," what were they thinking when they tried to incorporate it into their work, and what did they want to communicate through the work they created? What emerged from this was a way of expressing what they saw through their own sensibilities, without any fixed ideas or preconceptions.
We hope that visitors will also be able to break away from preconceptions through the artists' work, develop a greater sense of empathy for parasports, and approach the artworks with a genuine, natural state of mind, and so we concept design the space around the concept of "Uncoated."The elements that make up the space also make use of the natural materials, and incorporate the natural materials associated with each piece of art.
We paid particular attention to how the artworks were displayed so that their appeal could be fully brought out.
In line with NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Group's goal of "providing added value from an environmental perspective," this displays was concept design so that approximately 90% of the items can be reused as is.
Regarding the wood used, Fairwood Support Declaration We select our products based on this.
