overview

The "PARA HEROes" exhibition was planned by four young artists and creators to use "para table tennis" as a subject to express the appeal of the sport and its players, in order to spread the message of diversity and inclusion to Japan and the world.

As part of NOMURA 's support activities for the promotion of sports, and as a part of the "COLORS: One Year to Go Memorial Event for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics" was able to sponsor the project by providing planning and concept design.
What did the artists feel when they encountered "Para Table Tennis", what were their thoughts when they tried to incorporate it into their work, and what did they want to convey through the work they created? What emerged from this was a way of expressing what they saw through their own sensibilities, without any preconceived ideas or preconceptions.

We hope that visitors will be able to break away from preconceptions through the artists' work, develop a greater sense of empathy for parasports, and approach the artworks with a genuine, natural state of mind. This is why we concept design the space with an "Uncoated" concept. The elements that make up the space also make use of the natural materials, and weave in the natural materials associated with each piece of art.
We paid particular attention to how the artworks were displayed so as to bring out their best appeal.

In line with NOMURA Group's goal of "providing added value from an environmental perspective," this displays was concept design so that approximately 90% of the items can be reused as is.
Regarding the wood used, Fairwood Support Declaration We select our products based on this.
