overview

This is the Saitama Shintoshin store of PAPABUBBLE, an art candy shop that started in the back alleys of Barcelona and has spread to more than 30 countries around the world.
It is an experience-based store where candy makers and customers can come together to enjoy candy through a candy manufacturing performance that takes place inside the store.

At the Saitama Shintoshin store, we aimed to create a seamless store by eliminating as much of the boundary between the kitchen space where the performance takes place and the customer space, so that customers could enjoy the candy making in a more realistic way.
The interior concept design concept is to make customers feel as if they are in a kitchen, and the main material used is the same stainless steel as the kitchen. Kitchen equipment and supplies are scattered throughout the store.

In addition, in the store's stock space, factory-use vinyl curtains are used to intentionally show the materials used to make the candy, maximizing the presence of art candy being created in front of you.

As a next-generation candy shop that is conscious of experiential consumption and SDGs, we are disseminating plans that allow customers to participate in manufacturing, and turning candy ends, which were previously disposed of as scraps, into premium products that are difficult to obtain. We are also starting a new service that will make you reborn.

Issues/requests

The challenge was to create a shop that removed as many barriers as possible between the candy craftsmen who were making the candy and the customers, so that customers could enjoy candy making with a sense of realism.

solution

The concept was to allow customers to feel as if they were in the kitchen.
The main material is the same stainless steel as the kitchen, and kitchen equipment is used for the fixtures and shelves in the sales area, with kitchen supplies scattered throughout the store to create a seamless concept design.
Furthermore, in the stock space within the store, insect-proof vinyl curtains used in factories are used to deliberately display the ingredients used in the candy, maximizing the sense of presence that art candy is being created right before your eyes.
