This is a tourist facility themed around drift ice and the creatures of the Sea of Okhotsk, and the concept of this facility is the immersive experience of "Discovery Dive" into the world beneath the drift ice. You can experience the extraordinary world of drift ice and the unknown world beneath the drift ice.
In "Drift Ice Live," you can enjoy a live experience as if you were diving under the drift ice while being guided by divers and creatures, with a 360-degree video from the diver's point of view. "A world of life and beauty woven by the miracles of nature" spreads in the space, captivating visitors.
Additionally, by showcasing the natural beauty of the drift ice and the creatures that live there through dynamic drift ice images and graphics, we hope to stimulate intellectual curiosity while also providing visitors with an impressive experience through the carefully designed displays, which will heighten each visitor's awareness of global environmental issues.
There was a request to make it a facility that can continue to attract customers and feel close to environmental issues.
To continue attracting visitors, the facility allows visitors to enjoy the drift ice in the summer as well, and by using 360-degree footage from a diver's point of view to realistically convey the fantastical world beneath the drift ice, it has achieved a sense of realism that can only be experienced here.
In addition, to raise awareness of environmental issues, we have produced footage from the diver's own perspective and narrated commentary on the creatures in the Sea of Okhotsk. We have created displays that will deepen your interest in a more realistic and experience-like way. For more detailed issues and information, we have also created in-depth displays to allow visitors to deepen their understanding even further.
The renovation has enabled visitors to get a closer displays the fantastic sight of the drift ice floating in the Sea of Okhotsk in Abashiri, Hokkaido, and the current situation that is causing its area to decrease, which has led to an increase in the appeal of the city's main tourist facility.
