Uvale! Ohmine Sake Brewery

Uvale! is a cafe, restaurant, and shop located next to Omine Sake Brewery in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, surrounded by abundant nature. The existing office and cafe space was restructured, and the plan was to create a layered structure that utilizes the beams and columns to gently connect the shop, restaurant, and sake brewery.
By carefully adjusting the placement of columns and ceiling heights, we have created a space that naturally divides each area while maintaining a sense of openness, thereby creating diverse experiences for guests. Furthermore, by expanding the openings, we have achieved a comfortable environment filled with natural light. In addition, we have incorporated a reddish-brown color reminiscent of the Sekishu tiles found in the region into the steel frame and materials, and together with the three-dimensionally arranged plants, we have created a space that resonates with the rural landscape of Mine that unfolds outside the windows. Our aim was to create a place where nature, architecture, and the art of sake brewing are gently intertwined.
