Sorappa, which opened in Gran Green Osaka, is a lounge exclusively for workers, consisting of a dining area, a café that doubles as a workspace, and a terrace. The dining area is an open space with a 7m-high window that overlooks the Umekita Park, making it suitable for groups to use without worrying about others around them. The open space extends from the café to the terrace, and on sunny days you can enjoy a relaxing cafe time while looking at the beautiful view.
We were consulted about a complex area that would serve as an intermediate area connecting the park and offices of Gran Green Osaka, where workers could casually work and refresh themselves. concept design and layout needed to take advantage of the view, create a place where people could feel the nature of Umekita Park in Gran Green Osaka, and create a design that would be used in conjunction with the terrace.
The concept was "sky and hills" that connect with Umekita Park. Sorappa is located on the fourth floor of the building, so you can see not only the trees in the park but also the sky. The dining room, which features a view, has a 7m ceiling with louvers that reach into the sky, expressing the connection between the "sky" and the park. The finishing materials are mainly composed of colors with reduced saturation, making concept design easy to feel the colors of the outside scenery. In addition, the cafe, which was planned to be integrated with the terraced outdoor terrace, also functions as a co-working space. Partitions concept design to capture natural light and a "hill" with a multi-level structure create indoor and outdoor zones, making it a space that responds to the diverse working styles of workers.
