Nissan Motors Tochigi Plant Intelligent Factory Renewal

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has introduced the "Nissan Intelligent Factory," a unique car manufacturing concept based on next-generation production technology, to its Tochigi Plant, Japan's largest plant. In this project, the guest hall and plant tour course within the plant were renovated to communicate the innovative nature of the plant.
With the theme of communication concept design that leaves a deep impression on people's hearts, we pooled all our knowledge to recreate concept design of the space and displays experience.

The automotive industry is currently in the midst of a once-in-a-century period of great transformation. From car development and production, to workers and environmental measures, there is a need for business and technological development that is premised on sustainability. The Nissan Intelligent Factory was introduced to the Tochigi Plant as a pilot plant to tackle these issues. A major theme and challenge was how to concept design communication that conveyed the overall picture of Nissan's new car manufacturing and the context of the production site.

We pursued the optimal customer journey, including B2B, centering on children's social studies field trips. In order to take advantage of the impact of a full-scale car manufacturing site, we focused on recreating the space at 1/1 scale. We also aimed to enhance the hands-on displays and introduce an interactive experience displays visitors can use their bodies to "assemble" and "inspect" cars. This project, which crosses many organizations, was carefully created through co-creation with the customer.
