The facility development concept is “Nagasaki First”. We aim to be a place that conveys the essence of Nagasaki, connects Nagasaki with people within and outside the prefecture, and the world, revitalizes Nagasaki, and makes people naturally want to stop by every day.

As a gateway to the land of Nagasaki, which will be reborn anew, we were asked to create a space that would create new exchanges and create a lively atmosphere.


【solution】
Based on the concept design concept of "Nagasaki, a city of rich waterside culture and history," we aimed to create an expression centered on the port that connects to the outside world.
The façade concept design uses blue and white wave-shaped tiles to express the waterfront of Nagasaki Port and the sparkling light between the waves.
The interior concept design embodies the city of Nagasaki by making it a space that is easy to move around in, and the structure of the large circulation line and the inner path allows you to meet many shops that condense the city of Nagasaki. But "new" has realized a space that seeks harmony between the town and people.

Due to budget constraints and other factors, we were unable to adopt some of the concept design you suggested, but we were able to flexibly propose and adopt alternatives, and I feel that we were able to create an attractive space within our budget.
