Mitsubishi Minatomirai Industrial Museum Renewal
overview
We were in charge of the design and construction of the renewal of the entrance and facade (exterior of the building) at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' displays facility, the Mitsubishi Minatomirai Industrial Museum, located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Issues/requests
The Mitsubishi Minatomirai Industrial Museum was established by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a manufacturing company, with the aim of promoting interaction with local people and encouraging interest in science and technology.
The renovation of the entrance and facade was planned to further enhance the museum's function as its face, increase its brand power, and attract more visitors.
solution
The large entrance hall makes use of the space to display life-size graphics of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' products, allowing visitors to experience the scale of rockets, gas turbines, and other products, and aims to improve visitors' understanding of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group's wide range of business areas and the technologies that support society.
The façade uses a gradation of blue as the base color to express the free imagination, creativity, and ideas that flow from people's minds, as well as the organic expansion of the company's wide range of business domains across land, sea, air, and space.
Customer's voice
They created an exciting entrance facade.
Since reopening, we have received very positive feedback from customers and employees alike, and we feel that we have achieved the results we expected.
Even during the planning and review process, we were very encouraged by the positive response we received to our requests.
