overview

This is a relocation and new construction work due to the aging of the museum, which opened in 1948 in Matsumoto Castle Park. We were in charge of everything from the formulation of the basic concept of the displays space to the design, layout and construction.
The first floor is an open space open to citizens and tourists, and was built as a museum that actively approaches urban development in Matsumoto City.

Issues/requests

- Create an displays space that changes every time you visit and that people will come back to again and again.
・Create a symbolic object with citizen participation that symbolizes a museum that moves together with citizens.
・In the open space on the first floor, we will create experiential displays for preschoolers and older, where they can easily experience the museum.

We have received the above requests.

solution

-displays is divided into a permanent displays section that fully conveys its appeal through elaborate displays, and an updated displays section that emphasizes the ease of changing exhibits, creating an displays space that is both impressive and flexible.
-Holding a citizen workshop on ``temari'', one of Matsumoto's traditional crafts. Together with the public, we created a piece with the motif of ``Temari'', and the finished product was displays as an art object in the atrium of the building.
・We have created a large number of contents that will help you get familiar with Matsumoto's nature, history, and culture through play.

Customer's voice

In order to realize our request, we received a proposal based on our extensive experience that takes advantage of our city's unique characteristics.
In addition, through community-based activities such as holding citizen workshops and actively utilizing local businesses, we have increased the interest and interest of citizens in the new museum and strengthened the ties between the museum and citizens. .
