This project involved relocating and rebuilding the museum, which opened in Matsumoto Castle Park in 1948, due to its aging. We were in charge of everything from formulating the basic concept for displays space to design, layout and construction.
The first floor is an open space open to local residents and tourists, and was constructed as a museum that takes an active role in urban development in Matsumoto City.
- To create an displays space that is always changing and that encourages repeated visits
- To create a symbolic object through citizen participation that symbolizes the museum moving forward together with the citizens
・Create an experiential displays in the open space on the first floor that will allow preschoolers and above to casually experience the museum.
We have received the above request.
The exhibition space is divided into a permanent displays area that fully conveys the attractions of the museum through elaborate displays, and an updating displays area that emphasizes ease of changing exhibits, creating displays displays space that is both impressive and flexibly adaptable.
・A public workshop was held on the theme of "Temari," one of Matsumoto's traditional crafts. Participants worked with local residents to create works based on the "Temari" motif, and the completed works were displays as objets d'art in the atrium of the building.
-We have produced a wide range of content that allows people to become familiar with Matsumoto's nature, history, and culture through play.
In order to realize our request, we received a proposal based on our extensive experience that takes advantage of our city's unique characteristics.
In addition, through community-based activities such as holding citizen workshops and actively utilizing local businesses, we have increased the interest and interest of citizens in the new museum and strengthened the ties between the museum and citizens. .
