Marunouchi Street Park 2022 Summer

It is a project of "Marunouchi Street Park", which is being worked on as a demonstration experiment of future area management that transforms "road space" into a comfortable "urban park space" on Marunouchi Nakadori, Tokyo. The summer of 2022 will include a verification of what parks in the city center should be in order to make them permanent.・We verified the ideal way of safety management with a view to the park-like space. Based on the concept of "Marunouchi Street Park for everyone," we have created a city park space where people from all walks of life can feel nature with all five senses, connect with people, the city, and culture, and feel like spending a leisurely time. In addition, we arranged an inclusive table, a library, a refreshing space for light exercise, a street piano, etc. to provide opportunities for communication among visitors, and many people enjoyed them. From a diversity and inclusion perspective, we aimed to create a space where all kinds of people can feel comfortable by incorporating features such as pet-friendly leash hooks, furniture that is accessible to pregnant women, children, and wheelchair users, power outlets for people with disabilities and wheelchair users, a wheelchair-friendly layout, and inclusive tables that facilitate the sharing of culture and values, as well as tables and picnic sheets that can be concept design for a variety of purposes such as teleworking and café use.
