overview

Hitachi Origin Park is a new facility representing the origins of Hitachi, Ltd., consisting of four facilities: the Kodaira Memorial Hall, the Founding Hut, the Omika Club, and the Omika Golf Club.
In particular, the Kodaira Memorial Hall is a future-oriented memorial hall designed to enhance engagement with all employees and general visitors. It allows visitors to experience the aspirations of founder Namihei Kodaira, convey the company's roots to all employees, and showcases the history of social innovation—a history of continuous challenges to solve social issues, guided by the principles of "harmony, sincerity, and pioneering spirit"—to the local community. Furthermore, as a "place to think together about future social issues," an interactive theater has been established, reflecting on past displays themes and creating displays displays that evokes aspirations for the future.
At Hitachi Origin Park, the "Founding Hut," the original site of the company's founding, has been restored as a symbol of the park. displays recreates the environment of the actual machines, adding documentary footage and 3D sound effects to create an immersive experience that captures the spirit of the company's founding and leaves a lasting impression on visitors.

Issues/requests

1: We want to enhance the engagement of our more than 300,000 employees while maintaining displays of the former memorial hall, which was established in 1956.
2: We want to create a flexible environment for changing displays to accommodate the evolving history of the project.
3. We want to create a digital environment that facilitates communication with all visitors, from global employees to local residents.
The above requests were received.

solution

1. displays concept is "Employee Journey," and by constructing displays story, we aim to create an interactive displays that allows employees to empathize with the founder's vision and express their own commitment to the company's philosophy, thereby increasing employee engagement. The prologue displays begins with an introduction that touches upon the vision of founder Namihei Kodaira, and is an immersive theater experience that takes visitors on a time trip from their daily lives to the time of the company's founding. displays story of the history of social innovation expresses the image of Hitachi employees who continued to challenge themselves to solve social issues with the spirit of "harmony, sincerity, and pioneering spirit" in their hearts, using continuous gauze curtains throughout the space, creating an immersive spatial concept design that allows visitors to explore history with a sense of "floating through the scenery."
2. concept design seamless displays cases and systematized displays explanations, taking into account the changing of themes in the history of social innovation. The large screen graphics that extend throughout displays room utilize detachable batten rails, functioning as a stage set that can be constantly updated.
3. As a place to "consider social issues together" going forward, we have created an interactive theater where visitors can reflect on the themes of displays displays so far and express their hopes for the future as an epilogue. By adopting displays system that allows visitors to send their own messages, we have created an interactive theater that enhances communication with employees and general visitors both domestically and internationally. In addition, all displays explanations are provided in English, and we have also created digital content that visualizes the degree to which visitors resonated with displays themes and messages regarding social issues that interested them.

Customer's voice

For this project, we asked the staff at NOMURA Co.,Ltd. to take charge of the planning and design, after they had a deep understanding of our group's corporate philosophy and founding spirit.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings were primarily conducted online, which presented various challenges. However, your company's extensive expertise allowed us to consider and propose displays methods and other solutions.
We are confident that Hitachi Origin Park will serve as a place where we can convey our company's origins to our employees and stakeholders and reflect on our future.
