overview

[Project description]
"Heijo Palace Izanaikan" is a guidance facility built in the Suzakumon Hiroba maintained in the National Heijo Palace Historic Park. We will convey the significance and splendor of the Heijo Palace Site Historical Park, a “special place” where you can still feel the Nara period, and invite you to parks, temples and shrines that retain the vestiges of the past.

[Customer issues/requests]
In order to invite visitors to the Heijo Palace ruins, we aimed to create a "guidance displays that would heighten interest in the Heijo Palace ruins and connect them to the excitement of being on-site."

[Solution]
Our goal was to invite people into the field by spatializing and experientially expressing the "uniqueness of the Heijo Palace ruins," which is difficult to see on site.
The zone is divided into three main sections: "Heijo Palace Site Now," which guides visitors through the present-day park, "Heijo Palace in Action," where visitors can learn about and experience the activities of Heijo Palace in the past, and "Beyond Time," where visitors can understand the Heijo Palace and Kyoto of the past through relics.
By changing the approach for each zone and impressing specialness upon all five senses, we created displays that would connect with the excitement of being on-site.
