Hawks History Room supported by Ericsson

This is a renovation project for two VIP rooms, the Super Boxes, at Fukuoka PayPay Dome. Targeting core fans of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks (hereafter referred to as the Hawks), the project was carried out under the theme of "VIP rooms that expand the joy of watching baseball," displays the Hawks' 85-year history and profiles of current players. The rooms are also designed to inspire even those who are not familiar with the team to become Hawks fans. We did not simply propose interiors work, but also concept design and produced the rooms to the VIP rooms' original specifications, from the walls, lighting, and accessories.

In 2023, the double anniversary of the Hawks' 85th anniversary since the founding of the team and the 30th anniversary of the opening of the dome, we were asked to come up with ideas and create an environment that would condense the Hawks' history and make fans want to go. Valuable items such as custom-made stand lights, autographed balls, uniforms used by players, and bats will be displays inside the facility, so we were asked to come up with measures to prevent theft and what to do if players are replaced due to trades, etc.

We created an original space specially designed for the Hawks, where the history of the Hawks and its players can be felt more familiarly. Signed balls are displays with player profiles and photo plates so that even people who are not familiar with the Hawks or their current players can learn about them, and valuable uniforms and bats used by players are displayed in showcases. We also created custom lighting that resembles home base and original cushions made from actual uniforms, and for displays of signed balls, we took into consideration players joining and leaving the team and created a system that allows for easy changes when players change affiliations.
