Ginza Sony Park

[Project Description]
Ginza Sony Park will open as a flat and open public space until the fall of 2020 as part of the "Ginza Sony Park Project," a project to renovate the Sony Building. We are planning to complete the new Sony Building in a form that will expand without changing.

[Customer issues/requests]
Our role was from working drawings to construction, but the design and production had to proceed in parallel with the demolition work.
While taking into consideration time saving and costs, and based on the idea of not adding anything unnecessary, the goal was to achieve maximum effect with the minimal action of "concept design demolition." The theme was how to integrate into the project team and ensure proposals and quality that exceeded expectations in response to requests from the project team.

[Solution]
We participated in the project by focusing on thorough basic tasks such as preparing a production schedule and on-site processes that reflected the latest situation and constantly sharing the progress at regular project meetings, thoroughly checking the detailed working drawings, production drawings, construction drawings, finishing samples, and partial detail drawings, and by maintaining close communication with the project team.

[Customer feedback]
Despite the tight schedule, we were able to successfully open on August 9th thanks to careful communication between our partners, the concept design team, the design and construction team, and our company. I think the greatest benefit is that construction which required quite complex coordination, was completed on time. Thank you very much.
