overview

It is a facility that combines a "hotel" and a "motor sports museum" newly built on the site adjacent to Japan's leading motor sports base "Fuji Speedway". It is a place that offers a one-of-a-kind experience by fusing the "appeal and value of motorsports" with the "hospitality provided by the Hyatt brand."

Overcoming the barriers between "interiors (hotel interior)" and "displays (museum)", we are developing concept design work that treats everything in the space as a medium that conveys the "appeal and value of motor sports". The artwork scattered throughout the facility has a message built from a huge amount of research and data on motor sports, making it something that everyone from amateurs to experts can enjoy.
In addition, as a museum, it is the first in the world to "displays and introduce a comprehensive history of motor sports beyond the boundaries of manufacturers." Rather than a descriptive displays centered on commentary texts, we aim to create displays that intuitively captures the value that motor sports culture has brought to society throughout history. I made the displays structure that can be done. In particular, the main zone was impressively produced with a realistic theater-type displays including audiovisuals.

Issues/requests

Together with our customers, we considered how we could maximize the appeal and value of motorsports through the fusion of a hotel and a museum.

solution

We have provided total creative direction, including branding, which is the foundation of the facility system, VI and signage, design and architectural supervision of the hotel entrance interiors, hotel artwork, and museum displays design and construction, in order to create a one-of-a-kind experience where the "appeal and value of motor sports" can be felt throughout the entire facility. We aimed to create a one-of-a-kind experience space where visitors can experience the "charm and value of motorsports" through the entire facility.
