Exposition 2025 Japan: THEO’S CAFE by Juchheim
overview
This café features an AI-powered oven, "Baumkuchen AI Craftsman 'THEO'," which bakes and serves Baumkuchen in real time in a show kitchen. Inspired by the word "life," which is the theme of the 2025 Japan International Exposition (Osaka-Kansai Expo), the café uses "eggs" as its motif. The interior is predominantly white, with rounded chairs and tables, creating a bright space that softly reflects the light streaming in from the windows.
Furthermore, the floors, walls, ceilings, and tables are made from recycled eggshells used in making Baumkuchen, representing a vision of a future confectionery shop that avoids waste and incorporates materials into its architecture.

Issues/requests
This store project began with a request to create a store that evokes the future of confectionery shops, where AI and humans work together.
solution
As a company whose philosophy is to "deliver the purest, most natural deliciousness," we conceived this future food space by using naturally derived materials. We repurposed eggshells, which are discarded in large quantities during the confectionery manufacturing process, to create a pure white, streamlined space that integrates a sense of the future with the simple, natural atmosphere of the materials.
