Chateraise Gateau Kingdom Setouchi

Chateraise Gateau Kingdom Setouchi, which opened in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is a project that rebranded the former Greenpia Setouchi, owned by Kure City, into a resort hotel that combines confectionery business with a stay-type resort hotel. Based on concept design concept of "a unique resort that coexists with nature and allows you to feel the beauty of Setouchi," the entrance, lobby, guest rooms, restaurant, cafe, courtyard, and hot spring facilities were renovated, and it has been reborn as a new resort hotel.
With rooms offering panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea's many islands, and a cafe where you can enjoy exclusive sweets, this hotel can be used for a variety of occasions and by people of all ages.
Our company participated from the initial concept stage, and comprehensively handled everything from spatial concept formulation to design, layout, signage, graphic concept design, interiors construction, and floor and energy (FF&E), utilizing our creativity.

The client requested that the existing facility, which was completed 30 years ago, be renovated into a resort hotel that combines the appeal of sweets, and that it establish a standard for the "Gâteau Kingdom" brand owned by Chateraise Holdings. The facility needed to be able to accommodate group guests, and it needed to have high-quality guest rooms as a resort hotel, and it needed to be completed and open for business in a short period of time in order to accommodate future group guests.

Given the vast site area of 1 million tsubo (approximately 3.3 million square meters) and the difficulty of renovating the entire area within the given timeframe, we proposed a plan that prioritized areas where the impact would be greatest. Working closely with Châteraisé, we deepened our mutual communication throughout the entire process, from determining the scope of renovation to concept development, design, layout, and construction. Furthermore, to express the overall cohesion of the facility and its resort-like atmosphere, we implemented a renovation strategy that divided the scenes on each floor, such as converting two guest rooms into one. Through repeated communication with the client within the limited timeframe, we were able to achieve high-quality concept design and construction that led to customer satisfaction.

As we expanded our hotel business, including acquiring new hotels, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. accurately understood our desired direction and contributed to the creation of high-quality creative spaces, helping us to unify the brand's worldview. Having a branch office in the area of the project was also very reassuring.
