CES 2023 Panasonic GREEN IMPACT City
While communicating the Panasonic Group's major policy of "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT" to visitors through displays, we also embodied this in the overall spatial concept design, creating displays booth with as little waste as possible.
By considering the environmental impact, using minimal building and flooring materials and using many recycled materials, the carbon footprint of the booth was reduced in terms of construction and logistics, and the group's policy was conveyed to the world.
Additionally, the symbol signs placed in each area were concept design using products. By constructing them out of products, they conveyed a clear message to both visitors and the media, while also providing a place for people to gather as symbols.
The Panasonic Group has set a long-term environmental vision, "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT," and aims to reduce CO2 emissions from its own operations to virtually zero by 2030, and to create a reduction impact of 300 million tons, which is "about 1%" of the current total global emissions of about 33 billion tons, by 2050. How do we communicate "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT"? What should our booth be like as a place to communicate to the world? What should displays be like?
That was the assignment.
The area is organized around the theme of GREEN IMPACT City.
The symbolic signs representing each area were concept design using Panasonic's major products, to clearly concept design their message to visitors and the media.
Park: Perovskite solar cells are concept design in the shape of leaves to represent trees.
Town: The system that operates on 100% renewable energy is expressed through video and dioramas.
Mobility: A car is represented by a row of Li-ion batteries.
Home: By using projection mapping on a large diorama, we appeal to both technology and experience.
Each symbolic sign was concept design as a place for people to gather,
By arranging these items into products, we were able to appeal to both visitors and the media with an easy-to-understand message.
The symbolic tree using perovskite solar cells at displays booth, themed "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT," was concept design to look visually appealing while also taking into consideration technical requirements. As a result, we received many photos from visitors and the media, and we feel that they have shown a great deal of interest in our technology.
