CES 2023 Panasonic GREEN IMPACT City
overview
While conveying Panasonic Group's major policy, "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT," to visitors through displays, we also embodied it in the overall spatial concept design, creating displays booth that minimized waste as much as possible.
By being mindful of the environmental impact, using minimal building materials and flooring, and making extensive use of recycled materials, we were able to reduce the carbon footprint in terms of booth construction and logistics, and communicate the group's policies to the world.
Furthermore, the symbolic signs placed in each area were concept design using our products. By creating these symbols that serve as gathering places for people, and by constructing them with our products, we were able to clearly communicate our message to both visitors and the media.
Issues/requests
The Panasonic Group has set forth its long-term environmental vision, "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT," aiming to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions from its operations by 2030, and to create a reduction impact of 300 million tons by 2050, which is approximately 1% of the current global total emissions of approximately 33 billion tons. How should "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT" be communicated? What should the booth be like as a platform for communicating with the world? What should displays be like?
Those were the issues.
solution
The area is designed in accordance with the theme of GREEN IMPACT City.
We concept design symbolic signs representing each area using Panasonic's main products, creating concept design that clearly communicates the information to visitors and the media.
Park: Perovskite solar cells are concept design in the shape of leaves to represent a tree.
Town: A system operated entirely on renewable energy is depicted through video and dioramas.
Mobility: The design uses a forest of Li-ion batteries to represent a car.
Home: By using projection mapping on a large-scale diorama, we appeal to both technology and experiences.
Each symbolic sign is concept design as a place where people gather,
By structuring these elements into products, we were able to appeal to both attendees and the media with a message that was easy to understand.
Customer's voice
At displays booth themed "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT," we had a symbolic tree made using perovskite solar cells concept design in a way that was both technically sound and visually appealing. As a result, we felt that many visitors and media outlets took photos of it, showing great interest in our technology.
