Caretta Shiodome is a commercial complex housing a variety of restaurants and shops, as well as cultural facilities such as the Dentsu Shiki Theatre UMI, a permanent theater for the Shiki Theatre Company, and the Ad Museum Tokyo, a museum of Japanese advertising.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the hotel's opening in 2022, the hotel has renovated Kame no Hiroba (Kameno Square) located in the center of the block, the facade of the facility's main entrance, and the hotel's rest spaces.
The issues that were identified were the need to revitalize Kamenohiroba by taking advantage of its open space, to streamline the signage that is common to the entire block, and to refresh concept design of the facility environment, which had become aging.
For Kame-no-Hiroba, we installed artificial turf and FF&E to make it more comfortable and lively. Furthermore, we took the environment into consideration by updating the existing FF&E.
The signage plan focused on updating the entrance signs, which had low visibility, as well as the signs inside the building, with the aim of improving visibility, ease of movement, and appeal.
Additionally, the lighting plans for key areas such as the rest areas, entrances, and elevator halls have been revised to create brighter, healthier spaces.
