BANDAI HOBBY CENTER PLAMO DESIGN INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE MUSEUM

Located in Shizuoka City, within the new factory of BANDAI SPIRITS' plastic model production base, the "BANDAI HOBBY CENTER PLAMO DESIGN INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE MUSEUM (abbreviated as BHC PDII MUSEUM)" is themed as a "hub for showcasing the charm of manufacturing." Visitors can tour the new factory and experience being a "plastic model designer" themselves. The museum also displays the know-how and dedication cultivated over more than 50 years of plastic model manufacturing, as well as the latest technologies that support product quality, making it a place where people of all ages can learn about manufacturing in an enjoyable way.

In this project, we collaborated with BANDAI SPIRITS on a comprehensive approach, from planning, designing, and construction displays and content within the facility to developing the facility's operational plan. To realize BANDAI SPIRITS' museum concept and ideas, which are overflowing with "plastic model love," and to convey the untold dedication to manufacturing shown by the factory workers, we utilized our spatial implementation capabilities and displays concept design expertise in creating the facility.

To realize BANDAI SPIRITS' facility concept of "changing the way people see plastic models," displays utilize real molding machines and molds used in the factory, which are not usually seen by the public. Visitors can experience the manufacturing process, and through approachable graphics and displays, they can learn about BANDAI SPIRITS' commitment to craftsmanship, which is the essence of plastic models, as well as the evolution and challenges of their technology.

Our aim is to provide visitors with an opportunity to experience the world of plastic model design firsthand, offering them a new perspective on plastic models and encouraging them to enjoy them from a fresh viewpoint.
