% Arabica Manila Mitsukoshi BGC

This project involved design, layout of the first Philippine store (Manila) of "%ARABICA," a Kyoto-based coffee shop brand with cafes around the world.
As the company operates cafes in countries around the world, it is necessary to incorporate elements and cultures of each country into the space to create a unique store. For this store, we designed a futuristic space that shows the future of Manila, a city that continues to develop in Asian countries with growing economies. In keeping with the gently curving, elongated shape of the site, we placed a mirrored counter with a three-dimensional curved shape to guide customers to the back of the store. The same material was used for the floor and walls to reflect the entire space, echoing the shape of the counter, creating a futuristic spaceship-like composition that suggests the near future of Manila.
