overview

We proposed focusing on the lives and dreams of the people who played an active role at Himeji Castle, allowing visitors to experience the value of the buildings and objects through displays appropriate to the location, such as the main keep armory, the connecting tower, and the decorative tower, and connecting this to a moving experience. Specifically, to convey the appeal of these things, we helped to create scenes of the lives and dreams of the people who played an active role at Himeji Castle, focusing on scene displays and experiential displays that recreate the conditions of the time.

Issues/requests

Since the grand opening of Himeji Castle, many tourists have visited, and the number of foreign tourists has also been increasing rapidly. In light of this situation, we received a request to aim for displays utilization project that would contribute to further promoting tourism by enhancing the public utilization function of Himeji Castle, leading to increased visitor attraction and satisfaction.

solution

We have made efforts to convey the information in an impressive way through displays and experiential displays that recreate the way the equipment was used at the time.
We have also taken care to reduce the operational burden on the management staff and volunteer commentators.
・Projection mapping that reveals the structure of Himeji Castle, a national treasure that cannot actually be seen
・Senhime's life is depicted through images and space, along with her kimono.
- A full-size picture scroll depicting people who spoke about the hardships and circumstances of the Edo period's alternate attendance system
・Japanese armor and weapons compared with the rest of the world from an inbound perspective
