overview

Based on the concept of "OLDIES GOODIES," the hotel "1955 Tokyo Bay by Hoshino Resorts" (grand opening in June 2024, with our company handling planning, design, and construction), which is themed after 1950s America, has added a kids' play space and semi-private rooms where families can relax. Hoshino Resorts requested a kids' play space where children could play to their heart's content, as they have many guests with children, so we made effective use of the wide corridor space to create this kids' play area.

Issues/requests

The request was for a kids' space that felt like an extension of the guest-only common area, "2nd Room," and that would also be comfortable for adults.

solution

To create a kids' space where adults can also relax, we've placed a large island sofa where adults can eat and drink while keeping an eye on their children. In addition, despite being a public space—a corridor—we've created three semi-private rooms that feel like secret hideouts, offering a sense of privacy. The play area, in keeping with the hotel's theme, consists of a corner where children can play with vintage rocking horses, a corner for creative play with large cushions, a picture book corner, and a slide, packing elements that will capture children's interest into a limited space. We've also installed a large sign that clearly indicates it's a "play area" and a large, original clock that makes it easy to set limits on playtime with children, demonstrating our attention to detail in the design.

Customer's voice

This spot is popular with children and is enjoyed by many customers. The large "Play?" sign and the cute design of the slide are particularly well-received, and the kids' space itself functions as a photo spot.
Photos are frequently posted on social media, and we are very happy to see that everyone is enjoying them.
