"SCRAPTURE" displays tour to "Green Creative™ Innovations" in Bangkok, Thailand, with a talk session | To be held at SIAM Takashimaya from August 21st

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. will be exhibiting its "SCRAPTURE" product and participating in a talk session at "GreenCreative™ Innovations," an event hosted by SIAM Takashimaya, located within Thailand's largest multi-displays complex, from August 21st (Wednesday) to September 2nd (Monday), 2024. Nomura Co., Ltd. is also collaborating on the spatial concept design for this event.
 

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the potential of sustainable materials and 3D printing. At the venue, there will be sales, actual machine demonstrations, and workshops for the "TATAMI ReFAB PROJECT" (HONOKA LAB Co., Ltd.), which uses the pellet-type 3D printer "REX-Series BUTLER fabrication" to create new and attractive furniture from "rush grass" discarded during the tatami mat production process and biodegradable resin.

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Ltd. is working on the possibilities of sustainable concept design in space through its R&D activities. We have endorsed the purpose of this event and will be displays "SCRAPTURE" in a traveling exhibition. This time, we will be displays materials such as rush grass that were scheduled to be discarded.

At the opening ceremony on August 22nd, a talk session will be held, in which Yoshihisa Goto, head of the Sustainable concept design Lab at our Future Creation Research Institute, will take the stage along with the organizers and cooperating companies.

This product is a practical and sustainable message art piece that appeals to emotions and memories by making interiors waste, which is usually hidden from view, feel more familiar. Unlike traditional scrap-and-build message-making, it upcycles the waste into new interiors materials for the next generation, circulating as a medium that expands the circle of co-creation. It will be displays in offices, international conferences, and art events, aiming to provide an opportunity for many people to think about a better future. Winners include the Gold Award at the "Sky Design Awards 2023" (Multimedia & Visual included Exhibition category), the Gold Award and the Yui Tezuka Award at the "57th Japan Sign concept design Awards," and others.
