"SCRAPTURE" and other upcycled furniture displays at a traveling event focused on "mobility x apparel" idea creation.

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Ltd. will be exhibiting its "SCRAPTURE" and other upcycled furniture at "HŌRUMON NIGHT," a creators' meetup party 2024 that aims to create and discover ideas through mobility and apparel, displays at the World Kita-Aoyama Building on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Our company is also participating in this event as a sponsor.
 

This event is a meet-up party planned by JAID (Japan Automotive Interior Designers), an activity by volunteer creators belonging to major domestic automobile manufacturers, and World Co., Ltd., that shines a light on "hormones" (waste materials) generated from automobiles, clothes, food, etc., and connects people through these reborn hormones. You can enjoy a variety of unique ideas from creators, including a fashion show using waste materials and displays related to "mobility x apparel" that transcend corporate boundaries.

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. will be touring with "SCRAPTURE" and other displays, including speakers made from recycled acrylic partitions that were scheduled for disposal. This time, "SCRAPTURE" focuses on waste materials related to automobiles, and will be displays products that encase used airbags, interiors seats, and factory waste.

About Japan Automotive Interior Designers (commonly known as JAID)
JAID is an organization comprised primarily of interior and CMF* designers from nine major Japanese automobile manufacturers. Transcending company boundaries, JAID aims to create new "automotive interiors" that originate from across Japan, engaging in open creation with a diverse range of companies while enjoying the process.

■ SCRAPTURE (SCRAP MATERIAL UPCYCLE PROJECT) / NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd.
This product is a practical and sustainable message art piece that appeals to emotions and memories by making interiors waste, which is usually hidden from view, feel more familiar. Unlike traditional scrap-and-build message-making, it upcycles the waste into new interiors materials for the next generation, circulating as a medium that expands the circle of co-creation. It will be displays in offices, international conferences, and art events, aiming to provide an opportunity for many people to think about a better future. Winners include the Gold Award at the "Sky Design Awards 2023" (Multimedia & Visual included Exhibition category), the Gold Award and the Yui Tezuka Award at the "57th Japan Sign concept design Awards," and others.

noon.00 is a speaker made from recycled acrylic partitions that were installed in large quantities by NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Group. The acrylic, which was scheduled to be discarded, was crushed into cullet-like particles and then heat-pressed to reveal a milky white, luminous surface. The music played from it may give us an opportunity to reconsider our relationship with materials and their potential. This work is by "Material Record," which conducts research activities on the theme of materials = Earth's resources.
