Regarding participation in the “Male Leaders Association to Accelerate the Active Participation of Women”

Kiyotaka Okumoto, Representative Director and President Executive Officer of NOMURA Co., Ltd., participated in the ``Meeting of Male Leaders to Accelerate the Active Participation of Women'' (Secretariat: Cabinet Office). In February 2016, Shuji Enomoto, the company's representative director and president (at the time), joined the company, and he continues to deepen his network with male leaders in various industries across the country while promoting gender equality and women's empowerment at the company. We will accelerate our efforts.

 

■What is the “Male Leaders Association to Accelerate the Active Participation of Women” (hereinafter referred to as “Male Leaders Association”)?

In addition to promoting initiatives in accordance with the "Declaration of Action" to promote gender equality and women's empowerment, we will accelerate efforts by companies, etc. by building networking among participants and sharing initiatives and issues. This is a gathering of business managers etc. By allowing participants to proactively communicate their thoughts and initiatives both domestically and internationally, they will also contribute to fostering social momentum towards gender equality and women's empowerment.

Currently, approximately 320 people, including business executives, governors, and mayors of municipalities, are participating.
