NOMURA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Kiyotaka Okumoto) is pleased to announce that Tanseisha Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Osamu Kobayashi), Dentsu Live Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Masahiko Takagi), Hakuhodo Products Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo, Together with President & CEO: Naohiko Kishi) and Murayama Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Toru Saiki), we have established the Sustainable Events Council to promote sustainability in the event industry and improve the literacy of the industry as a whole.

Toward 2030, the deadline for achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) set by the United Nations, all companies are expected to make significant contributions to the SDGs. As seen in the theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, "Contributing to the Achievement of the SDGs," the event industry is also required to have a sustainability perspective for all event stakeholders, including organizers, production companies, and production companies.

In light of this situation, five companies with event space production departments joined hands to form the Sustainable Event Council. By strengthening collaboration, we aim to promote sustainability and improve literacy in the event industry as a whole, and work to incorporate it into concrete actions.

As the first step in these activities, we will develop a booth "Sustainable Event Studio" at JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023 Inside Out of KidZania, where children can learn about the importance of sustainability during event management and production while having fun.

Here, children can experience building a mobility show booth as an "event designer." By freely combining sustainable materials to make models, you will learn how to concept design an environmentally friendly event.

By appealing the importance of sustainability considerations at events not only to children, who will lead the future, but also to parents who are highly interested in sustainability, we aim to improve the literacy of general consumers who visit the event.

NOMURA and the Sustainable Events Council will continue to contribute to the promotion of sustainability throughout the industry.
