About the 5th year of Reiwa Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Awards

Our Executive Creative Director Ryu Kosaka was awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award for Distinguished Service in the Construction Industry in 2023. The reason for the award was "for his many years of dedication to design administration supervision business and his contribution to the development of the industry as an executive of related organizations."

Below are Kosaka's comments on receiving the award.

Receiving the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Commendation (Construction Business Related Merit)

In 2001, our company joined the Japan Commercial environmental design Association (JCD), a general incorporated association, but we began to take our activities in concept design industry seriously after receiving a call from then-chairman Naoki Iijima, who asked us to "expand our horizons beyond the scope of NOMURA to include nurturing young people in the industry."
 

While expanding his scope of work as a spatial concept design, he has received awards, won international competitions, and founded AND. He has also served as a judge for the JCD Awards, a gateway for young designers, for 10 years. In 2014, he was appointed vice director of JCD and was actively involved in the establishment of the Japan Space concept design Awards to further raise the profile of the industry.
Since 2016, he has worked as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Architecture at the University of Tokyo, where he has conveyed to students the "fun of spatial concept design."
These activities were recognized with an award from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism this year.

We are honored that our creative work, which focuses on "the fascinating aspects of spatial concept design" and "how space can bring happiness to people and society," has been recognized, and we hope that this will lead to a further improvement in our social status.
