SCRAPTURE | NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's Social Good Activities

Upcycling scrap generated from building materials and interiors materials.

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. has been engaged in "social good activities" since 2021, creating happiness that will last into the future in people's spaces. We aim to solve social issues in four areas of activity: environment, community, culture, and people.
On March 15, 2023, our 131st anniversary, we installed furniture designed to "connect" people, events, and things, based on the concept of "opening up to the community," in the 1st-floor entrance of Head Office headquarters in Odaiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

"SCRAPTURE" = SCRAP x FURNITURE
"SCRAPTURE," whose prototype was unveiled at "Social Good Week" held in November 2022, was created with a focus on industrial waste, which amounts to 412 million tons annually.
This project involves upcycling "SCRAP," a waste material generated from building and interiors materials that NOMURA Co.,Ltd. has close ties with, and reusing it as "FURNITURE." Through repeated consideration of functionality and concept design from the prototype stage, it has evolved into this conceptual furniture that incorporates waste materials, and has now been installed in its final form.

By allowing visitors to use our products, we hope to convey NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Ltd.'s message of being in harmony with the environment and continuing to contribute to society and the local community, while also providing an opportunity for everyone to think together about a better future and a sustainable society.
