NOMURA R&D: Announcement of spatial digital transformation service that supports well-being and revitalization through emotion prediction

NOMURA 's R&D: Capturing the smiles of visitors and analyzing the data to use in spatial concept design, operation and presentation
Announcement of spatial digital transformation service that supports well-being and revitalization through emotion prediction
NOMURA Co., Ltd. aims to create sustainable well-being spaces in offices, public and commercial facilities, where people can spend their time in good health and happiness both physically and mentally. This time, they announced a spatial DX service that uses "emograf*", a software they planned and developed in-house,to analyze the well-being state of users by predicting their emotions, such as smiling, and utilize the data.
With this service, it is expected that customer satisfaction will be increased through spatial evaluation and improvement to stimulate communication, and new value will be created through the production of content that visualizes emotions and use in marketing.
<Features of EmoGraph and future prospects>
Emografis a non-contact system that uses a 360-degree camera to capture facial expressions without placing any physical burden on the user, and predicts and visualizes emotions in real time. Data is collected in a complex manner, including grasping gender and age groups, and simultaneously capturing the facial expressions of multiple people. It is also possible to use people flow analysis to capture the entire space from multiple angles, to see how people move and behave based on emotions.
By utilizing the data in spatial concept design, operation and presentation, we propose spatial revitalization that enriches communication while being sensitive to the emotions of users and encourages positive behavioral changes. Based on the results of the demonstration experiment conducted in February, we will continue to develop further service concept design with the aim of providing them to facilities.
(As part of our R&D activities, a demonstration experiment of this service will be conducted at NOMURA RESET SPACE_2 from February 6 to 17, 2023. The results of the experiment will be released in April.)
NOMURA is researching spatial solutions that utilize technology through open innovation and giving back to society in order to continue providing Delight and Passion through space. We will continue to aim to create comfortable spaces for everyone through technology and creativity.
*emograf: A service planned and produced by NOMLAB, the innovation laboratory of NOMURA Group. It analyzes people's facial expressions to visualize emotions in a space, such as the atmosphere and excitement of the place. It obtains and analyzes facial expressions in real time. It realizes visualization performance through data analysis and digital expression. The prototype created in 2018 was created in collaboration with One to Ten Co., Ltd.
・Various AI camera functions, such as facial recognition, are provided by One to Ten's "QURIOS CAMERA"
<Expected usage scenarios>
1. Use in well-being spaces:Emotion prediction analysis results can be used as evidence to improve interiors concept design and layout, and to reflect in management plans. They can also be used to evaluate well-being management and health management indicators for companies, and to revitalize facilities. People flow analysis can also be used in combination.
2. Use in content production: Bring out smiles from users and improve the customer experience by using emotional effects.
