Our business partner, Pixie Dust Technologies, has developed a transparent sound-absorbing material called "iwasemi RC-α" that blends in with glass, and NOMURA Co.,Ltd. is providing support for the design and engineering.

In September 2022, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. entered into a capital and business alliance agreement with Pixie Dust Technologies Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Representative Director: Yoichi Ochiai and Taiichiro Murakami, hereinafter referred to as "PxDT"), a company working to solve social issues through technological innovation.

 

PxDT has recently developed a transparent sound absorbing material "iwasemi RC-α" that harmonizes with glass as a new product of the innovative sound absorbing material "iwasemi" that uses acoustic metamaterial technology. "iwasemi RC-α" has a rectangular shape that can be used to create various layout patterns like tiles, and by using plant-derived bioengineering plastics, it has achieved a reduction in environmental impact and high transparency that blends well with glass. , is a sound absorbing material that can be applied to glass.

This product will be displays at the international trade show "ORGATEC TOKYO 2023" to be held from April 26th to 28th, and is scheduled to be released around May 2023.

 

NOMURA Co.,Ltd., Ltd. utilized its expertise in interiors design and construction to provide support regarding the design, including consideration of economical dimensions, the feel of the materials (transparency), and details of the joints for anticipated installation. PxDT is working on developing this product to resolve sound environment issues, based on its vision statement of "Digitally Rebalanced."

NOMURA Co.,Ltd., Ltd. will continue to proactively propose the "iwasemi RC-α" in order to improve the sound environment in any space.
