NOMURA 's Social Good Activities: Participating in a regional revitalization project using the metaverse "Kameoka City Digital Cultural Museum Construction Project"

NOMURA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director President and CEO: Shuji Enomoto; hereinafter referred to as NOMURA) will be participating in the "Kameoka City Digital Cultural Museum Construction Project" in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, a project commissioned by stu Inc. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takayasu Kuroda; hereinafter referred to as "stu"), an emerging creative company that develops cutting-edge technologies such as local 5G, XR, and the metaverse, and also handles spatial design and content production using the developed technologies.

 

This project, which is being carried out jointly by stu and NOMURA, will focus on "life and history inside and outside Kameyama Castle Town," "the connection between the Hozu River and the ancient capital of Kyoto," and "Kokubunji Temple and Buddhist culture," and will involve designing a space that will allow visitors to experience a time-slip experience, such as restoring Kameyama Castle, which was blown up and destroyed during the Taisho era, in a metaverse space. In addition, a system will be created to create a facility such as a digital cultural museum within the space and convey its appeal. Production activities are underway with the aim of opening the space in spring 2011. NOMURA, Ltd. will bring together the knowledge and know-how it has cultivated through its track record in museums, archives, and art galleries, and will contribute primarily to the metaverse space concept design.
