Landscape Creation [Sakitsu-Imatomi Cultural Landscape Development] Project

Summary: concept design and management of a series of public works projects in the Sakitsu district of Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture, a fishing village registered as a component part of a World Heritage Site, and in Imatomi district, a mountain village adjacent to the Sakitsu district. Over a period of more than 10 years, more than 15 public works projects of various sizes have been carried out, and by incorporating a landscape concept design perspective into all of them, we have been able to protect and nurture the scenery and activities while creating a lively atmosphere.
