NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's Social Good Activities: Examples of the "Sea and Sauna" and "Jobus!!" projects, which revitalize tourist destinations through the development of healing micro-tourism at Mount Nokogiri.
NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd., along with five other businesses including Kiinokuniya Co., Ltd., has been selected for the Japan Tourism Agency's 2021 "Project to Promote the Revitalization and High Value-Added Development of Existing Tourist Bases (*)" for the revitalization of tourism in the Nokogiriyama area of Chiba Prefecture.
This area faces challenges such as a decrease in overnight and sightseeing tours due to an increase in day trips by private car following the opening of the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line and Tateyama Expressway, as well as the need to revitalize tourist destinations that were hit hard by disasters caused by Typhoons 15 and 19 in 2019 and the COVID-19 pandemic. This project was planned as a countermeasure. As part of this plan, we implemented two projects: the demonstration experiment "Sea and Sauna" and the transportation demonstration "Jo Bus!!".
Our company provided comprehensive support, from subsidy application assistance to research, planning, consulting, signage and graphic concept design, operation, management ("Sea and Sauna"), public relations, and reporting support.
Based on the "Tourism Base Revitalization Plan" prepared by the local community, etc., we will provide strong, short-term, intensive support for businesses that aim to revitalize 100 tourist bases nationwide and increase the attractiveness and profitability of the entire region.
