On March 16, 2022, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. held a joint event with FSC Japan entitled "Hamamatsu City x NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Contributing to the Achievement of the SDGs through the Development of FSC® Project-Certified Public Facilities - Considering the Renovation Examples of Hamamatsu Children's Museum and Hamamatsu Castle, the First in the Nation to Obtain Certification*."
Representatives from the Forestry Promotion Division of the Industry Department and the Next Generation Development Division of the Children and Families Department of Hamamatsu City were on stage, along with Haruka Tashiro, Project Manager of the Hamamatsu Castle and Hamamatsu Children's Museum FSC® Certification Project, and Atsushi Suzuki, concept design Director of the same project, who spoke about the FSC project certification case study, which was a collaboration between Hamamatsu City and NOMURA Co.,Ltd. and used FSC-certified Tenryu timber.
A total of 185 people participated, including FM certification holders nationwide, COC certification holders related to FSC-certified timber, and local governments interested in FSC certification.
