NOMURA Co.,Ltd. designers Ryo Onishi and Chikako Hatanaka will be speaking at a symposium at BAMBOO EXPO 16 [organized by BAMBOO MEDIA], a trade show that brings together elements of spatial concept design. Onishi will talk about "Commercial Spaces and Domestic Timber," while Hatanaka will discuss "The Future as Seen by Female Designers."
Although the event will be held in person at the venue, admission to the special stage and each session will be free. Seating is limited, so please apply early and attend. Even if you are unable to attend the venue for unavoidable reasons, you can still enjoy the live stream via a link set up on "BAMBOO EXPO onweb."

BAMBOO EXPO was launched in 2011 as a unique displays that brings together a variety of materials used in commercial space concept design, such as interiors and building materials, furniture, art, greenery, technology, and services. It is currently held twice a year, in spring and autumn, and this year marks the 16th time it has been held.

Due to the influence of the corona pandemic, we have been forced to postpone and scale down for the past year or two, but with the help, wisdom and support of many people, we have been able to change the venue from the previous time to "Tokyo Metropolitan Industry and Trade Center Hamamatsu." We have stepped up to the next stage, such as moving to Machikan.

This time as well, in order to explode the energy that has been accumulated so far, we will make this “real” meeting place liven up with various projects.

Starting with museum concept design, he has experience in a variety of projects across disciplines, from corporate showrooms and store concept design to hotels and workplaces. He focuses on creating spaces and experiential value that combine the fields of information concept design and interior concept design, and develops creations that comprehensively grasp concept design process. Recent achievements include Bridge for Innovation, the PARAHEROes exhibition, Brillia Shinagawa Minamioi Communication Salon, Kanda Myojin Cultural Exchange Center EDOCCO, NSK MUSEUM, and NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Workplace RE/SP_2.

Born and raised in Tokyo. After graduating from the Department of Architecture, College of Science and Technology, Nihon University, she joined NOMURA Co.,Ltd., where she is primarily involved in concept design of commercial specialty stores. She was a founding member of FOO in 2019. In recent years, she has been involved in numerous projects requiring high-end spaces, including hotels and residences both in Japan and overseas. Her work-life balance is evolving following childbirth and teleworking. She continues to explore her concept design work on a daily basis. Her major achievements include HENRI LE ROUX Tokyo Midtown, BEAUTY LIBRARY Aoyama, and Midtown Hibiya Restroom Lounge, among others.
