Brussels Flower Carpet concept design by NOMURA, Ltd. Adopted for "Ibaraki Prefecture x Belgium Host Town Frame Stamp"

The photographs of "Brussels Flower Carpet 2016", designed by Fujie Suzuki of NOMURA Co., Ltd. as the first Japanese designer, were released by Japan Post Co., Ltd. in commemoration of Ibaraki Prefecture being the host town of the Kingdom of Belgium. It was adopted for the original frame stamp that will be released on December 1, 2020. This stamp consists of a total of 15 photos, including a night view photo of the flower carpet and other scenic photos of Ibaraki Prefecture and the Kingdom of Belgium.

 

The "Brussels Flower Carpet" is held once every two years at the Grand Place Square in Brussels, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was held for four days from August 12th. Fujie Suzuki, based on the concept of "kacho fugetsu", hopes to realize a deep and friendly relationship between Japan and Belgium that has lasted for 150 years and a better future through the beautiful nature and beautiful landscapes common to Japan and Belgium. concept design.

 

Approximately 100,000 people visited during the four days of the exhibition, and it was highly praised, saying, "The history and feelings of both countries were connected and impressed. A wonderful concept design that will go down in the history of flower carpets."
