NOMURA, Ltd. participates in spatial decoration by upcycling the aluminum body of the Tokaido Shinkansen 700 series

NOMURA Ltd. has participated in a project by Tokyo Station Development Co., Ltd. (JR Central Group) to turn aluminum from the Tokaido Shinkansen 700 Series trains (hereinafter referred to as the 700 Series Shinkansen) into building materials and upcycle them as interiors materials for the Yaesu North Exit concourse of Tokyo Station and the Tokyo Gift Palette specialty shopping mall. This is the first attempt since the start of Shinkansen service in 1964 to use recycled aluminum that does not contain any additives while maintaining the high quality of the 700 Series Shinkansen for decoration in commercial spaces, and the project won a development award from the Japan Aluminium Association. NOMURA has been involved from the development stage of the building materials project and was in charge of producing and managing the construction of the environmental area interiors work.
NOMURA will continue to work on improving the technology and quality to solve social issues, and will take on the challenge of creating spaces that contribute to improving our customers' corporate value and creating a sustainable society.
