NOMURA Co.,Ltd., Ltd. announces new normal spatial experience service using non-contact, sound-based augmented reality (AR)

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, NOMURA Co.,Ltd.) announces "oto rea," a contactless acoustic experience service that utilizes sound augmented reality (AR). This service was project-managed and planned by NOMLAB, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Group's innovation laboratory, and developed using technology from GATARI Inc. (hereinafter, GATARI), a mixed reality service development startup. By incorporating this contactless service for personal use into guided tours and experience programs at tourist and cultural facilities, users can avoid the four Cs (crowded places, close contact, closed spaces, and close contact) and provide a special acoustic experience exclusive to users. This service is also expected to transform the behavioral changes necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into added value.
