Talk theme: Kanda Myojin Cultural Exchange Center "EDOCCO" efforts - A base for cultural exchange that makes use of the charm of Tama wood
Enshrined in Edo-Tokyo, Kanda Myojin has been revered as the guardian deity of the Kanda, Nihonbashi, Akihabara, Otemachi, and Marunouchi districts and has protected the region. "EDOCCO" was opened. Based on the concept of "Tradition x Innovation," this facility was completed as a base for the exchange and transmission of culture, spirit, and values. It also contributes to the revitalization of the forestry and lumber industries, as well as the protection and growth of forests.
Now marking one year since its completion, we spoke with Kanda Myojin Shrine's deputy chief priest, Takashima, and producers Sakatsume and Onishi of NOMURA Group about the shrine's vision for a new era and the efforts to "protect while transform" forests and timber utilization, which is at a turning point.
