[2016 concept design Awards] Three works received Silver Awards at the "Japan Spatial concept design Awards 2016".

We are pleased to announce that three projects for which NOMURA Co.,Ltd. was in charge of spatial design have received awards at the "Japan Spatial concept design Awards 2016 (organized by the Japan Spatial concept design Association)."

 

At the "Japan Spatial concept design Awards 2016," out of approximately 800 entries, "Tulip Shikisai-kan," for which Tomoki Fukano was in charge of spatial concept design, and "SKY CIRCUS Sunshine 60 Observatory," a state-of-the-art immersive observation deck designed by Tamae Takahashi, both received silver awards.

 

In addition, Akihiko Shigyo was in charge of the "National Museum of Nature and Science Global Museum Renewal", which won the Silver Prize, and Yutaka Uehara, who was in charge of the exploration plaza for parents and children on the 3rd floor of the building, "Compass", won the Planning and Research Award. Four other works were selected for the BEST 50.

 

On the other hand, the display window for Umeda Tsutaya Bookstore's "A 'memorable' message from Tsutaya Bookstore", which was handled by Nomura Duo, a Group company, also received a silver award.

What is the Japan Spatial concept design Award?

Founded in 1966 and now in its 50th year, this is the world's largest spatial environment concept design award, hosted by the Japan Spatial concept design Association. It continues to recognize outstanding concept design that aim to create communication concept design in space. This year, from approximately 800 entries, one Grand Prize winner, 10 Gold Prize winners, 15 Silver Prize winners, 24 Best 50 Award winners, one Reconstruction Support Award winner, two Regional Award winners, one Student Award winner, and three Planning/Research Award winners were selected.
