[2015 concept design Awards] Three works win silver awards at the "JCD concept design Awards 2015"

At the "JCD concept design Awards 2015 (sponsored by the Japan Commercial environmental design Association)", three works for which NOMURA was in charge of spatial design won silver awards.

 

Of the approximately 500 entries submitted this year, the Osaka International Peace Center, whose spatial concept design was created by Mitsuhide Yoshinaga, won the Silver Award, marking the third time the company has won an award this year, following the DSA Japan Spatial concept design Award 2015 and the 34th Display Industry Award (2015).

 

The Osaka International Peace Center conducts research and displays on war and peace, with the main theme being the Osaka air raids of 1945. This time, the center aimed to create an exhibition design that resonates with the heart, that is easy for anyone to intuitively understand, and that asks questions of oneself, based on the concept of "looking back on the displays of the past while opening the door to a better future" from concept design of "past, present, and future."

 

In addition, two works won silver awards: "BbyB. GINZA," a chocolate specialty store whose spatial concept design was handled by Masumi Hotta together with nendo Ltd., and "TORIBA COFFEE Ginza Main Store," a coffee specialty store that opened in 2014 and was handled by Takashi Miyazato (AND). Four other works were selected for the BEST 100.

[What is the JCD concept design Award?]

The award began in 1974 with the aim of honoring spatial concept design, primarily in commercial environments. Held annually, it has sought to extract value and potential from the spatial concept design of the time. In order to make concept design quality and discovery more accessible to the public, the awards have been open to the entire Asian region since 2003.
