[2015 concept design Award] Won the Chairman's Award (Encouragement Award) at the Wood concept design Awards 2015

This year, the first Wood concept design Award 2015 (New Wood Use Commemoration) (hosted by Wood concept design Award Management Office, supported by Forestry Agency) was organized by the newly established Wood concept design Award Management Office, and the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum (client: Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum, a public interest incorporated foundation), for which we assisted with design, layout, planning, construction and interior administration, won the Chairman's Award (Encouragement Award) in the Social concept design category.

 

The reasons for the award included the following: [As the only museum of carpentry tools in Japan, it is a highly designed museum that conveys the charm of wood by using artisan techniques and advanced technology in its space], and [In addition to technical displays, it also holds workshops where visitors can experience the wonder of wood and the joy of interacting with wood, and has content that should be passed on to the next generation, from Japan's traditions of using wood to acquiring skills].

[What is the Wood concept design Award?]

The Wood concept design Award is a new award system established this year to evaluate and award products and initiatives that rediscover the merits and value of wood from a consumer perspective. Applications are open to all things and events that promote the use of wood, including architecture, wooden products, initiatives, technology, and research. The goal is to promote the spread and development of a "rich life with wood," to enrich daily life and society, and to advance the use of wood.
