About books
To commemorate this exhibition, "A Century of World Expositions 1851-1970" (author: Shinya Hashizume, editor: NOMURA Co.,Ltd., publisher: Seigensha) has also been published.
"While their form has changed with the times, the methodology of displays known as world's fairs has been passed down both domestically and internationally, spanning centuries. As long as there is a society based on the nation-state, and as long as there is a demand for a venue to showcase a model of near-future life, the world's fair, a 'device of civilization,' will be passed down, regardless of whether it takes the same form as before." (From Shinya Hashizume's "The Century of World's Fairs")
